I'm looking for a way to play Monopoly with someone far away. It can be via a website or via a downloadable game that has online multiplayer (where you can connect to a specific person), and it does NOT have to be free - we are willing to pay (up to, say, $30) for it. Does anyone have any suggestions? The PB-licensed Monopoly game on games.com and spintop games doesn't seem to have online multiplayer, so please don't suggest that.|||Monopoly was once available for online play at Atari.com.
However, Atari's parent company Infogrames sold the online rights back to Hasbro, the makers of the original board game, in July 2007.
The company may bring Monopoly back online in the future, along with other popular games like Yahtzee and Boggle.
For the time being, though, sites offering Monopoly games are limited.
Your best option is probably Monopoly 3 for PC, which has the classic Monopoly board and an online-play option, and you can try it before you buy it.
